This Pet Care Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by PAWsome Companions, LLC (“Provider”) and the undersigned client (“Client”). By engaging our services, the Client agrees to the terms outlined herein. These terms apply to all pets currently owned by the Client, as well as any pets acquired after signing this Agreement, ensuring consistent care and service standards.

1. Scope of Services

PAWsome Companions, LLC will provide professional pet sitting, dog walking, and related pet care services with reliability, compassion, and professionalism. The Client releases PAWsome Companions, LLC — including owners, employees, contractors, and representatives — from liability except in cases of proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

2. Reporting Concerns

Clients must report concerns within 24 hours of service completion to ensure timely resolution. Feedback is encouraged to help us improve service quality.

3. Payment Terms

  • A deposit equal to 50% of the total invoice is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
  • The remaining balance must be paid at least 72 hours before services begin, unless a different arrangement has been confirmed in writing.
  • Reservations are not confirmed until the 50% deposit is received. A late payment fee of $15.00 will be added to your invoice for any delays. Please note: Your walker or sitter will not arrive for the scheduled service unless the full payment has been completed.
  • All modifications must be documented and mutually approved by both parties.

4. Payment Methods

We recommend Zelle or Cash (no fees). Other options:

  • Major Debit/Credit cards (3.5% processing fee)
  • Venmo (3.5% + 0.15 processing fee)
  • Cash App (3.5% processing fee)
  • Apple Pay (3.0% processing fee)
  • Square or Stripe (3.5% + 0.10 processing fee)

Checks require prior approval. Returned checks incur a $25 processing fee plus any applicable bank charges.

5. Pet Safety & Requirements

  • All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations, free of contagious illnesses, and owners must disclose special needs or behavioral concerns prior to service.
  • The Client certifies compliance with local, state, and federal vaccination laws.
  • Providers cannot be held liable for illness, injury, loss, or accidents unless caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

6. Veterinary Emergencies

If a medical emergency occurs, the Provider will follow the Client’s Veterinary Release Form instructions. If the Client or emergency contact cannot be reached, the Provider will act in good faith to prioritize the pet’s immediate health and safety.

7. Client Liability

The Client assumes responsibility for any injuries, damages, or medical expenses caused by their pet’s behavior during service. This includes incidents involving the Provider, other individuals, animals, or property.

8. Indemnification

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold PAWsome Companions, LLC harmless from claims or damages arising from their pet(s) or actions under this Agreement.

9. Cancellation Policy

  • Non-holiday bookings: 5 days’ notice required to avoid fees.
  • Major holidays: 8 days’ notice required.
  • Less notice: 50% of total invoice charged.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours: 100% of invoice total charged.
  • Additional charges may apply if the Provider has already traveled to the Client’s location.

10. Service Termination

Services may be terminated if a pet poses a safety risk to the Provider or others. Completed services remain payable in full.

11. Right to Refuse Service

PAWsome Companions reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion to ensure safety and maintain quality. Pets must meet health, temperament, and vaccination standards.

12. Property Access

The Provider is authorized to access the Client’s property solely to deliver agreed-upon services, with professionalism and in accordance with this Agreement.

13. Locksmith Authorization

If access is obstructed, the Provider may employ a locksmith at the Client’s expense. The Client must ensure all entry points are functional and accessible.

14. Security & Third-Party Liability

The Client must secure their property and remove hazards or valuables before service. The Provider is not liable for damages caused by criminal activity or third parties during service.

15. Emergency & Weather Contingencies

Services may be adjusted during emergencies or severe weather. Outdoor activities may be replaced with indoor enrichment in extreme temperatures (below 50°F or above 88°F).

16. Supplies & Equipment

The Client must provide all necessary supplies and equipment. Any items purchased by the Provider will be reimbursed within 72 hours of receipt.

17. Media Consent

The Client consents to the use of images or videos of their pet(s) for marketing, education, or promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and printed materials.

18. Agreement Validity

This Agreement remains valid for all future services unless superseded by a written agreement signed by both parties.

19. Property & Pet Behavior

  • Off-leash dogs or outdoor-roaming cats are not accepted unless securely fenced.
  • Dogs kept exclusively outside, in crates, or garages will not be cared for.
  • The Client must maintain a secure fence and disclose behavioral risks.

20. Post-Surgical & Illness Policy

Pets recovering from surgery or with unhealed wounds, or displaying illness symptoms, will not be accepted until cleared by a veterinarian.

21. Arrival Times

Service arrival times are approximate and may fluctuate within 2–3 hours. Clients will be notified of any changes.

22. Emergency Contact

The Client must provide a local emergency contact for unforeseen issues or urgent decisions.

23. Temperature Regulation

Indoor temperature must remain between 68°F–77°F for the comfort of pets and Provider. Providers will adjust the thermostat if outside this range unless otherwise instructed.

24. Risk Acknowledgment

The Client understands that, despite all reasonable efforts and best practices, unforeseen accidents, illnesses, or injuries may still occur during the provision of services.

25. Dispute Resolution

Both parties will attempt good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal remedies. Mediation or arbitration is encouraged for unresolved disputes.

26. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by California law, with jurisdiction in Los Angeles or Ventura County, as applicable.

27. Liability Waiver

The Client releases PAWsome Companions from liability except in cases of proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

28. Privacy Policy

Clients must disclose all surveillance cameras. Failure to disclose will result in immediate termination of services. Providers may temporarily disable indoor cameras during visits to focus on care duties.

29. Authorization Continuity

The Client authorizes PAWsome Companions to accept and proceed with future service requests under these terms without requiring a new signature.
