Visit Length Recommendations
Not Sure How Long to Book? We’ll Help You Choose.
Every pet is different, and every home has its own routine. That’s why PAWsome Companions, LLC. does not believe in one-size-fits-all pet care.
Whether you have a playful puppy, energetic dog, senior pet, shy cat, kitten, or pet with medical needs, we help recommend the visit length that best supports their comfort, safety, and happiness while you’re away.
What We Consider When Recommending Visit Length
- Your Pet’s Normal Routine
We look at your pet’s regular feeding, potty, walk, playtime, and sleep schedule so we can keep their day as familiar and stress-free as possible.
- Age & Life Stage
Puppies, kittens, adults, and senior pets all have different care needs. Younger pets often need more frequent visits, while senior pets may need slower pacing, medication support, or extra comfort care.
- Energy Level
High-energy pets may benefit from longer walks, play sessions, enrichment, or multiple visits. Lower-energy pets may prefer shorter, calm check-ins with cuddles and care.
- Bathroom Needs
For dogs and puppies, we consider how long they can comfortably go between potty breaks. For cats and kittens, we factor in litter box care, cleanup, and monitoring.
- Medical or Special Care Needs
Pets needing medication, insulin, mobility help, special feeding routines, or close monitoring may require longer or more structured visits.
- Personality & Comfort Level
Some pets love attention and companionship. Others are shy, nervous, or independent. We adjust visit length based on what helps your pet feel safe.
- Number of Pets in the Home
More pets usually means more time for feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, litter boxes, cleanup, playtime, and individualized attention.
- Household Tasks
Mail, packages, lights, trash, plant watering, and pet cleanup can all take extra time, so we build that into the visit recommendation when needed.
Popular Visit Lengths
- 15-Minute Visit
Best for quick check-ins, independent cats, shy cats, simple feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, or a short potty break.
- 30-Minute Visit
Our most common visit length. Great for feeding, potty breaks, litter box care, walks, playtime, cuddles, photos, and basic home tasks.
- 45-Minute Visit
Ideal for active dogs, multi-pet homes, puppies, kittens, pets who need more attention, or homes with extra care instructions.
- 60-Minute Visit
Best for long walks, high-energy pets, extended playtime, medication routines, multiple pets, detailed care needs, or pets who need extra companionship.
- Overnight Stays
Perfect for pets who are used to company at night, need evening and morning routines, have anxiety, medical needs, or simply feel more secure with someone there.
