Whether you need pet sitting, drop-in visits, overnight companion care, dog walking, extended sitting, specialty or medical pet care, adventures, or transportation, every new client begins with a personalized onboarding process designed to help us understand your pets, their routines, your home, and your expectations.
Our goal is to build a care plan that feels familiar to your pets and dependable for you.
1. Become a PAWsome Client
Start by completing our New Client Intake Form with information about you, your pets, the services you’re interested in, and your upcoming care needs.
This gives our team the information we need to determine availability, confirm that your location is within our service area, and recommend the care option that best fits your household.

2. Confirm Your Service Area
PAWsome Companions provides professional pet care throughout Simi Valley and surrounding areas of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
Because availability and travel coverage can vary depending on the service requested, we recommend reviewing our service area before scheduling your consultation.
3. Schedule Your New Client Consultation
Before providing care, new clients complete a personalized New Client Consultation & Care Assessment.
During this meeting, we’ll:
- Meet you and your pets
- Learn your pets’ personalities, routines, and preferences
- Review feeding, medication, walking, and care instructions
- Discuss behavioral considerations or special needs
- Review home access and security procedures
- Confirm emergency and veterinary information
- Discuss your requested services and recommended schedule
- Answer questions about our policies and procedures
- Make sure we’re the right fit for your household
The consultation also gives your pets an opportunity to become familiar with us before their first scheduled service.
4. Build Your Personalized Care Plan
No two households are exactly alike.
After your consultation, we’ll help finalize a care plan based on your pets’ normal routines, including:
- Visit frequency
- Visit duration
- Preferred arrival windows
- Feeding routines
- Potty and walking schedules
- Medication requirements
- Enrichment and companionship
- Overnight or extended-care needs
- Home-care instructions
- Special accommodations
Whenever possible, we aim to maintain the routines your pets already know and love.
5. Review Your Quote & Reserve Your Dates
Once your care plan has been finalized, we’ll prepare your service schedule and pricing.
A 50% reservation deposit is required to secure approved service dates, with the remaining balance due before services begin according to our booking policies.
Because pet-care availability can fill quickly—particularly during holidays, weekends, school breaks, and other peak travel periods—we recommend completing your consultation and reserving your dates as early as possible.
6. Get Connected With Our Walkies App
Once you’re an active client, our Walkies client app helps keep your pet-care information and service updates organized in one convenient place.
Depending on your scheduled service, you’ll receive updates that may include:
- Visit reports
- Photos
- Care notes
- Walk information
- GPS-tracked walks
- Feeding and potty updates
- Medication notes
- Important observations from your sitter
You’ll stay connected to your pets even when you can’t be there.
7. Relax — Your Pets Are in Professional Hands
Once everything is confirmed, we’ll take it from there.
Our professional team follows your established care instructions while providing attentive, compassionate care designed around your pets’ individual needs.
We understand that trusting someone with your pets and your home is personal. That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on communication, preparation, consistency, safety, and professional standards from the very beginning.
To help make onboarding as smooth as possible, we recommend having the following information available:
- Current veterinary information
- Emergency contact information
- Feeding instructions
- Medication instructions, if applicable
- Walking equipment and routines
- Behavioral or medical concerns
- Home-access instructions
- Alarm or security information, if applicable
- Your preferred care schedule
- Upcoming travel or service dates
