Before we begin services, all new clients are required to complete our registration process so we can fully understand your pet’s needs, routines, and safety requirements.

🐕 What areas do you service?
We proudly serve the communities of Simi Valley, Ventura County, and select areas of Los Angeles County. Not sure if you're within our service area? Feel free to contact us — we’re happy to assist! Alternatively, you can check our Service Area page to submit a request or confirm your location.
🐾 How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during holidays or school breaks when demand is high. For last-minute bookings, we’ll do our best to accommodate you whenever possible.
💚 Is the meet and greet required for all new clients?
Yes! The meet and greet is an important first step so we can get to know your pets, learn their routines, and make sure everyone’s comfortable before care begins.
💲 Why is there a $25 consultation fee?
The $25 fee helps cover our sitter’s time and travel for your in-home consultation. This fee is credited toward your first booking, so it goes right back to you once you become part of our PAWsome family.
💳 How do I pay for services?
We highly recommend using Zelle to help our clients avoid the 3.5% processing fee. However, we also accept Apple Pay, Venmo, Cash App, checks, cash, and all major debit/credit cards (processed via Square).
• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation.
• The remaining balance must be paid 72 hours prior to your first visit.
💚 If PAWsome Companions needs to cancel, you will receive a full refund or credit.
🎄Do you charge extra for holidays?
Nope! Unlike many other providers, we don’t add holiday surcharges — because your pets deserve PAWsome care all year round, without surprise fees.
🕒 What if my plans change or I need to cancel?
We understand life happens!
• Non-holiday visits: Cancel at least 5 days in advance to avoid forfeiting credit.
• Holidays: Require 8 days’ notice.
• Overnight stays: Require 14 days’ notice.
Refunds are issued as account credits, not cash, so you can easily apply them toward future bookings.
🐾 Can you care for multiple pets?
Absolutely! We’re experienced with multi-pet households of all sizes and species — from dogs and cats to rabbits, birds, and reptiles. We’ll tailor visits to fit every pet’s needs and personality.
🚗 Do you charge for travel or parking?
Travel within our primary service areas is included at no extra cost. However, in select downtown or high-density areas where paid parking is required, clients may be responsible for covering parking fees (garage or meter). Additionally, a small $10 surcharge will apply per visit if locating parking takes longer than 5 minutes.
🩺 Can you administer medications or handle medical care?
Yes! Our team is Fear Free Certified and trained in pet first aid, CPR, and advanced medical support. We safely handle medications, injections, post-op care, and fluid administration per your veterinarian’s instructions.
💬 How will I receive updates during visits?
Stay connected with real-time updates, notes, video snippets, and photos through our Walkies App after every visit. With your personalized Walkies Journal, you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips — real-time GPS tracking, the ability to message your sitter or walker directly, and even a seamless way to manage and pay invoices. We believe transparency is the foundation of trust, and we’re excited to share happy pet moments with you every step of the way!
🐾 What happens if my sitter has an emergency?
Your pets will never be left without care. Our Backup & Emergency Coverage Plan ensures seamless, uninterrupted service. In the rare event of an emergency, a trusted team member is always ready to step in. Each client is paired with two dedicated team members, not only guaranteeing consistent care but also fostering a bond between your pets and their caregivers.
Helpful Consultation Tips
- To ensure your pets stay safe and comfortable, avoid scheduling elective surgeries or non-urgent veterinary appointments (like vaccinations, spaying/neutering, or dental cleanings) within two weeks of your departure. Unexpected reactions could arise, and addressing them in your absence may not be possible, potentially putting your pet at risk.
- Before you leave, take a moment to review and update your pet care instructions and emergency contact details. Double-check phone numbers and consider designating a new emergency contact if needed.
- Please verify that the lockbox is in good working condition and contains a functional house key to ensure seamless access to your home.
- Inform your neighbors about our scheduled visits while you're away. Feel free to share our contact information with them should they have any questions or concerns about your pets or property.
- Maintain consistency in your pet's diet for at least two weeks leading up to your trip. Ensure there’s enough food to last for the duration of your time away. For perishable items, such as fresh lettuce or live crickets for reptiles, let us know in advance so we can help manage their supply accordingly.
- Sharing a trip itinerary is optional but appreciated. If you do, please include the names and contact details of your accommodations for quick reference in case of an emergency.
